Welcome everyone to CSS Naked Day on DreamStation.cc.On April 9, 2009 every year members of the web design community turn off their site’s cascading style sheets (CSS) to show only the basic HTML of their web pages. I hope nobody minds, but this year I decided to have DreamStation.cc participate.
Unfortunately, Invision Power Board (software that we use for our forums) isn’t totally made out of semantic XHTML like DreamStation.cc’s main site. The forums pages are not as clean looking without the CSS as the main site, but I figured I need to turn off all the styles throughout the site for the full effect.
You will see that Invision Power Board still uses tables for its layout and that is why you are still seeing some colors and layout on the forums of DreamStation.cc.
Hopefully this doesn’t shock any of you too much for the next 24 to 48 hours. On April 10, 2009 DreamStation.cc will put its clothes back on and everything will go back to normal.

Some things shouldn’t be “naked”. Ever.
I wonder how many people will think their is something wrong with the website or their computer when they arrive at DreamStation.cc today?
I have missed doing this for the last few years, but I saw someone mention it on Twitter last night and was able to disable to CSS and have DS.cc added to http://naked.dustindiaz.com
I also turned off the CSS on http://www.cnc137.com
I like it, takes me back to a simpler time like the early 90’s…
If only I had the Mosaic web browser or Netscape 1.0 installed for the full effect of the 1990s.
