Inspired by the feature film by Steve Spielberg and Peter Jackson, The Adventures of Tintin: The Game is Now Available in the U.S.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA - December 6, 2011 - Today, Ubisoft announced The Adventures of Tintin: The Game is now available in North America. The game is based on the highly anticipated feature film from Paramount Pictures and Columbia Pictures, directed by Steven Spielberg and produced by Spielberg, Peter Jackson and Kathleen Kennedy. Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier in close collaboration with the filmmakers, The Adventures of Tintin: The Game is available for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, Windows PC, and Nintendo 3DS and Wii.
The Adventures of Tintin: The Game is an action-packed adventure game that allows fans, the opportunity to fully immerse themselves into the world of Tintin and relive key moments from the movie and as well as enjoy fun cooperative gameplay and multiplayer challenges beyond the film. The next-generation versions of The Adventures of Tintin: The Game also include support for the KinectTM for Xbox 360, and PlayStation® Move for the PlayStation®3 system. The game also comes in HD stereoscopic 3D giving players a truly immersive experience into the world of Tintin.
The game features three different modes: Solo, Cooperative and Challenge, for more than 20 hours of total gameplay excitement. The Solo Mode closely follows the events of the movie and allows players the chance to rediscover enchanting environments found in the film, such as Captain Haddock’s ship the Karaboudjan, Ben Salaad’s Palace or the exotic city of Bagghar. The solo mission is a unique blend of platforming, exploration, puzzle-solving and exciting action-packed gameplay such as ace combat and side-car driving. Players will embody Tintin, the hero and intrepid reporter, and other main characters each having its own personality and unique skills. Additional sidekicks will also appear when help is needed.
From start to finish, the multiplayer Cooperative Mode unfolds in the middle of Captain Haddock’s dream world. Â In the short span of a few days, Captain Haddock has been transformed from a blistering sea barnacle to the direct descendant of a famous knight to the king. The captain’s dreams are chaotic as he tries to get his thoughts organized. This mode introduces classic characters from the Tintin universe as players will have the option to play as Tintin, Captain Haddock, Snowy, Bianca Castafiore, Thompson and Thomson or Sir Francis Haddock, and have will work together to help each other solve new mysteries. Each character will have to combine their skills to collect treasure and unlock exciting new levels.
The Challenge Mode is dedicated to players looking for more competition. Leveraging the action-packed gameplay mechanics like sword fighting, driving a motorcycle, and flying an airplane, Challenge Mode allows players to pit themselves against the AI in an effort to beat their opponent’s score.
