Renowned Actor Takes on Role as Quirky Professor Fitz Quadwrangle in First Person Environmental Puzzle Game From Kim Swift and Airtight Games.
LOS ANGELES (Apr. 4, 2012) — Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of SQUARE ENIX® interactive entertainment products in the Americas, today revealed that John de Lancie – best known for his recurring role as "Q" on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Breaking Bad – will lend his voice to the highly anticipated first person platform puzzle game, Quantum Conundrum™. In the game, de Lancie takes the lead role as the wacky and endlessly inventive Professor Fitz Quadwrangle. Hopelessly lost in another dimension, Professor Quadwrangle is determined to guide his nephew through his extraordinary, yet extremely hazardous, manor home.
"The professor’s character is funny, a bit bizarre, and a great joy to perform," said de Lancie. "If players have half as much fun with the game as I did playing the character, then they’ll be having a great time."
Developed by Airtight Games, Quantum Conundrum is the next game from PORTAL™ co–creator, Kim Swift, and is expected to be available for download this summer on Windows PC, the PlayStation®Network for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

About QUANTUM CONUNDRUM
In Quantum Conundrum, players take on the role of a young kid dropped off on his uncle’s doorstep for the weekend; his uncle just so happens to be the brilliant, eccentric inventor, Professor Fitz Quadwrangle. Upon entering the Professor’s vast manor home retrofitted with crazy technology to test his latest hypotheses, players quickly realize their uncle has gone missing. Fortunately, players soon gain access to Professor Quadwrangle’s latest invention, the Inter–Dimensional Shift Device, which, at the press of a button, will shift the world around them to an entirely new dimension. In order to find him, players must use the newly found IDS Device to dynamically change the world to and from a variety of different dimensions to progress through the complicated Quadwrangle Manor. While on the journey, becoming adept at utilizing the various dimensions will help them trek from one bizarre and challenging room to the next. It might sound easy enough, but it is a tall order for a kid in a giant puzzle of a manor!
