Disney Interactive Showcases Expansive Multiplatform Portfolio for E3 2009

Split/Second, Toy Story Mania! and Spectrobes: Origins Among Featured Disney Titles at the World’s Largest Industry Event.

 

LOS ANGELES - (June 2, 2009) - Disney Interactive Studios will unveil an expansive portfolio of video games for kids, families and gamers on most major game platforms and devices during the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), the industry trade show June 2-4 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. 

Disney Interactive Studios’ games take players through experiences on a variety of platforms, including home consoles, handheld devices, computers and smart phones, including iPhone and Android.  Products target diverse demographics while taking advantage of each hardware’s unique features to provide high-quality entertainment experiences that showcase both new intellectual properties and well known Disney franchises.

The company’s rich line-up is highlighted by new franchises for home consoles: Split/Second, an intense, action arcade racing game in which players trigger large-scale, dramatic events that take out opponents and alter the race track;Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned, a new open world action role playing game with an original story based in the Pirates of the Caribbean universe; Toy Story Mania!, a fast-paced, fun-filled video game inspired by the immensely popular new attraction at the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, featuring  the iconic characters and humor from the popular Disney/Pixar “Toy Story” franchise; Spectrobes: Origins, the next step in the evolution of the popular sci-fi game franchise to the Wii; and Disney Sing It: Pop Hits, the third title in the hit video-based karaoke video game series. 

The Disney E3 video games line-up also includes numerous games for all systems and devices based on popular entertainment properties.

  • Split/Second:Set within the world of a hyper-competitive reality television show in a made-for-TV city rigged for destruction,Split/Secondis an intense action racing game in which competitors can trigger events that take out opponents or completely change the track as they compete for the ultimate prize - to become the season’s champion.Split/Secondis from Black Rock Studio, Disney’s racing game studio in Brighton, England, and the developer ofPURE, the Game Critics Awards’ Best Racing Game of E3 2008.

  • Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned:Armada of the Damnedis an action RPG that takes players on a journey into the Pirates of the Caribbean world during a time before the stories from the films. Players will take on the role of a pirate while making decisions that affect the evolution of the original story’s progression. The game will feature the ability to sail and fight through a massive open world filled with dangerous enemies, questionable allies, epic sea battles and the mysterious supernatural.

  • Toy Story Mania!:Toy Story Mania!showcases an array of entertaining games inspired bythe new Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resortattraction,while featuring the iconic characters and humor from the popular Disney/Pixar “Toy Story” franchise. In addition to rapid fire shooting galleries adapted from the attraction, the game includes new and original galleries and a series of mini games, all hosted by beloved characters from the movies.   • Spectrobes: Origins:Disney’s monster battle franchise comes exclusively to Wii as the saga of planetary patrol officers Rallen and Jeena continues. The two characters will explore new worlds alongside the powerful Spectrobes. Players will discover the depths of the Spectrobes mythology while battling, exploring, excavating and playing alone or together in cooperative mode on the same Wii system.

  • Disney Sing It: Pop Hits:The third title in the video-based karaoke video game franchise from Disney Interactive Studios features 30 master recordings and popular music videos fromfan favorites, including Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, Colbie Caillat, Demi Lovato, Hannah Montana, Jesse McCartney and Coldplay. With the help of Disney Channel star Tiffany Thornton from “Sonny With A Chance,” the newly expanded “Sing It Pro” mode lets players develop their singing and performance skills to unlock special rewards as they play.

  • Hannah Montana:Rock Out The Show: In the first Hannah Montana game for the PSP system, play as Hannah Montana and perform to 11 songs, including three new tracks. Disney’s games for mobile devices are integrated with upcoming Disney Interactive Studios’ console and handheld games.  Games are in development for all existing and emerging mobile platforms.

  • Breakspin: In this arcade title, players use a ball of energy to destroy dark cells, unleash cosmic creatures and charge energy matter in 40 challenging levels.

  • Fairies Fly: Players will tilt their device to guide their Fairy while picking up items and collecting Pixie Dust to score points and unlock new surprises.

  • G-Force: The Game: Players take control of three characters from the film - Juarez, Darwin and Blaster in a series of mission-based adventures. Teamwork is crucial in the action/strategy game that requires players to use the different abilities of each character to decipher clues and sneak into enemy territory to destroy targets.

  • G-Force: Mooch Fly: Players assume the role of Mooch, a house fly, as they try to avoid obstacles while hovering through the air. The game’s graphics were inspired by Mooch from the console games.

  • Hannah Montana: Star Moves:The adventure game features Miley and Hannah while letting players explore Miley’s home, school, the beach and the park. Players also perform on-stage as Miley and go to parties.

  • JONAS: Fans get to experience their favorite band in a new way as they help Joe, Nick and Kevin juggle the demands of school, fashion and music with a series of mini games that allow them to match wardrobe, play beats, name tunes and ace exams.

  • Toy Story Mania:The mobile game, based on the new attraction at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, features the well known characters from the Disney/Pixar “Toy Story” franchise. The game has five carnival games: egg toss, boot camp, balloon land, wild west and space range.

  • Wizards of Waverly Place: The mobile game takes place during summer vacation and the world famous Wizards convention is coming up fast but only one of the Russo kids can go.
