XSEED Games Announces Gold Status and Ship Date For Ys SEVEN for the PSP system.
Torrance, Calif., (August 2, 2010) – XSEED Games is pleased to announce today that Ys SEVEN has gone gold and will begin shipping to retailers across North America on August 17th, exclusively for the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system. The standard edition of Ys SEVEN will be available for a suggested retail price of $29.99, and a Limited Collector’s Edition which includes a soundtrack CD, 60-page art book and a 12.5â€Â x 34†cloth map highlighting the expansive world of the Ys series will be available for the suggested retail price of $49.99 through Amazon.com, GameStop, and other fine retailers. A digital download version of the game will also be available on the PlayStation®Store starting August 17th for a retail price of $29.99. Developed by Falcom, Ys SEVEN marks the first installment in the Ys series that XSEED Games will publish under a multi-title agreement with Falcom, one of the longest-running development studios in Japan, who have been a pioneer of the RPG genre since their first release in 1983. Ys SEVEN is the first iteration of the legendary series to be built specifically for the PSP system.
Adventurer Adol Christin arrives in the land of Altago with trusty Dogi at his side. A series of unfortunate events lands the pair in jail. However, a timely intervention from the King of Altago, Kiemarl Ednas, pulls the duo out of jail and sets them on the path to adventure. A strange altar blesses hero Adol with sudden special powers, and burdens him with a quest to find and awaken the Five Dragons to summon their help for the final battle to determine the fate of the world. Ys SEVEN features an action-based real-time battle system where you can swap between any of the three-member battle party on the fly and engage enemies in a richly detailed 3D environment with virtually no load times.
Ys SEVEN includes nine playable characters, each with their own fighting style, special abilities and variety of special weapons including: sword, hammer, magic, bow and more. Four difficulty levels allow players of all backgrounds to experience the exciting action in beautifully rendered 3D environments during over 30 hours of addictive gameplay. Ys SEVEN is rated “T” for Teen and will be available exclusively for the PSP system across North America August 17th, 2010.
