XSEED Games Conjures Additional Details on the Magic and Monsters of Ys: The Oath in Felghana as Launch Approaches.
XSEED is back with a last look at Ys: The Oath in Felghana, in anticipation of the game’s launch November 2nd. The most recent installment granted a closer look at key gameplay elements and exploration in the world of Felghana. Today we’re pleased to further illuminate the role of magic and the fearsome boss foes players will encounter when Ys: The Oath in Felghana launches November 2nd exclusively for the PSP®(Playstation® Portable) system.
In true classic RPG form, Ys hero Adol’s ability to traverse the expansive, complex open world of Ys: The Oath in Felghana is deeply rooted in mythical elemental bracelets and the spells they hold within. Once found, the powers of Fire, Wind and Earth are at his disposal, granting Adol the abilities to shoot fireballs, propel himself over cavernous depths, or lunge forward at the speed of sound. The evolution and mastery of this magic is the key to ensuring Adol’s survival during his encounters with the most challenging of Felghana’s villains: the massive, epic bosses.
If there’s one thing Ys: The Oath in Felghana is known for, it is its vast palette of thrilling boss encounters–over 18 in all! Upon starting the game, players have the option to choose from one of 5 initial difficulty levels (Very Easy to Nightmare), and it is during the boss encounters that the differences between these levels can truly be felt. Should your skill not be up to the task, you’ll be granted the option to downgrade to a lower difficulty–a true mark of shame.
Unique to Ys: The Oath in Felghana, each intense boss battle is fought on a single life bar–there are no healing items to save you here. From dragons to hell-hounds, corrupted knights to crystalline ooze monsters, the game’s gripping and fast-paced combat provides no rest for the weary. However, those skilled enough to master the game’s tight, intuitive controls will be rewarded with a seriously satisfying victory and the option to take them all on again via “Time Attack†mode. If you’re allergic to your own adrenaline, you’d best keep your distance, ’cause you’re about to be drowning in it!
