Ubisoft Announces Eight Titles for Wii U

LOS ANGELES – June 5, 2012 – Today at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Ubisoft® announced it is supporting the upcoming launch of Nintendo’s Wii U™ system with the release of eight games by the first half of 2013. Ubisoft’s Wii U lineup includes Assassin’s Creed III, the survival thriller and platform-exclusive ZombiU and a host of other games that will appeal to both core and casual games, including fans of the action-adventure, dance, family, fitness and sports genres.

“Ubisoft is a trailblazer in developing innovative, unique content for new platforms and we’re continuing that tradition with our Wii U titles,” said Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer, Ubisoft.

“Ubisoft’s creative teams have taken advantage of the technological advances in the Wii U system to develop new gameplay concepts that will help set the new system apart from other consoles and deliver distinct, immersive gaming experiences for players.”

Ubisoft’s history of originality on Nintendo platforms includes multi-million selling franchises for the Wii™ system, including Just Dance®, Rabbids® and Red Steel®. With the launch of Wii U, Ubisoft is once again aiming to be the leading third-party developer on Nintendo’s flagship system.

Ubisoft games that are being developed for Nintendo’s Wii U include:

Assassin’s Creed® III: Set against the backdrop of the American Revolution in the late 18th century, Assassin’s Creed III introduces a new hero, Connor, the new voice for justice in the ancient war between the Assassins and Templars. Gamers become an Assassin in the war for liberty against ruthless tyranny in the most stylized and fluid combat experiences in the franchise to date. Assassin’s Creed III spans the Revolutionary War, taking gamers from the vibrant, untamed frontier to bustling colonial towns and the intense, chaotic battlefields where George Washington’s Continental Army clashed with the imposing British Army.

Just Dance® 4: Just Dance 4 is the fourth installment in the world’s No. 1 dance game franchise. This title features more than 40 new tracks, ranging from chart-topping Billboard hits to classic dance party tracks from artists like Rihanna, One Direction, P!nk, The B-52’s, and Flo Rida. Exclusive to Wii U is a new Puppet Master Mode where up to 5-players can play together. In the new mode, the operator of the Wii U GamePad™ can switch dance routines and create choreographies that are performed by the other four players in real-time.

Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth: Battle against the forces of evil in this new Marvel adventure starring over 20 Marvel super heroes and villains, including Captain America, Thor and The Hulk. Based on the ‘Secret Invasion’ storyline, Marvel Avengers’ interactive environments are inspired by iconic Marvel comic artwork and backdrops. Experience a variety of game modes by using the Wii U GamePad to execute explosive super attacks, unleash devastating special moves and battle friends or against the AI.

Rabbids® Land: The Rabbids are bwaaaaaaack and this time they have invaded our favorite amusement park. Embark on an adventure to capture the Rabbids throughout the theme park and visit more than 20 attractions along the way including an enchanted princess castle, the tunnel of love, a zany roller coaster and a spooky haunted house. Players use the Wii U GamePad to take control of the Rabbids in a variety of wacky interactions including aiming, plotting each move, tilting, shouting, steering, touching and drawing on them on the controller’s screen.

Rayman Legends®: One of Ubisoft’s most popular franchises transitions to Wii U by exploring fresh gameplay experiences and expanding beyond the traditional platformer. Rayman, Globox and the Teensies are back to embark on a fantasy adventure through a series of legendary worlds with new environments, characters and enemies, as well as clever and entertaining game modes.

Sports Connectionâ„¢: Sports Connection is the next generation of multi-sports games that brings families and youth together in an interactive and engaging setting. Experience all of your favorite sports like never before by playing across your TV and the new Wii U GamePad, switching from multiplayer to single player and teaming up for competitive co-op. The Wii U GamePad allows up to 5 players to compete simultaneously in a variety of sports including American football, soccer and karting.

Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2013: With more than 125 different workouts and 215 exercise moves, Your Shape 2013 elevates fitness gaming to a new level. The title provides a personalized workout experience packed with fun and exciting activities to achieve the player’s fitness goals. Your Shape 2013 continues the tradition of the Your Shape franchise by offering the best in-class workout technology including progress tracking, motivating online features, HD graphics and beautifully animated virtual coaches.

ZombiUâ„¢: Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, ZombiU puts players in the middle of London, circa 2012, where an outbreak has infected hundreds of thousands, turning them into flesh-eating, undead monsters that roam the streets to prey on the living. ZombiU showcases the features of the Wii U GamePad, including serving as an intuitive survival kit and bridging the interactions of the player and in-game world through an immersive tactile connection, to create new game experiences not possible on other consoles.
