Fishing Rod Peripheral from Partner NAMCO BANDAI Games to Offer a Heightened Sense of Fishing and Fun as Players Attempt to Reel in their Dream Catch While on an Exotic Island Vacation.
Torrance, Calif., (October 13, 2011) – XSEED Games, an independent-minded publisher, today announced that they will be bringing NAMCO BANDAI Games’ own fishing rod controller peripheral to North America, exclusively as a bundle with Fishing Resort™ for Wii™. Released as the “Sao-con†in Japan and developed specifically for Fishing Resort, this unique high-quality accessory turns any Wii Remote™ and Nunchuk™ into a virtual fishing rod, giving gamers an unmatched arcade fishing simulation experience.
NAMCO BANDAI Games’ fishing rod accessory has been officially licensed by Nintendo, and it attaches the Wii Remote to the “fishing rod†on the right and the Nunchuk to the “reel†on the left, simulating the real motions of an actual fishing rod and reel whether casting a line or reeling in the next big catch. The peripheral will be a welcomed addition to the game’s overall fishing mechanics for players looking for a more challenging and exciting control scheme to catch their dream fish.
In Fishing Resort, players are put in charge of their own tropical island vacation, with the option to explore a variety of locations ranging from calm lakes and picture perfect beaches to snow-covered mountains and deep ocean seas, with each environment offering a different fishing experience. Throughout the game, players will be able to discover the more than 200 types of fish to be found at the various locales supported by varying fishing conditions and scenic terrain.
XSEED Games will release Fishing Resort and the bundle with the fishing rod accessory in time for the holidays for a MSRP $29.99, as well as offer the game as a standalone game for MSRP $19.99. The game was developed by PROPE, an independent studio founded by famed game developer Yuji Naka who is best known for his previous work on Sonic the Hedgehog.
