Nickelodeon Dance Coming to Xbox 360 Kinect and Wii This Holiday Season

This fall Dora grooves to the music with her Nickelodeon friends; Team Umizoomi make their mighty math gaming debut and Dora & Kai-lan’s Pet Shelter focuses on animal care giving.

NEW YORK, Jun 07, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) — 2K Play and Nickelodeon today announced Nickelodeon Dance is coming to the Wii(TM) system and Kinect(TM) for Xbox 360(R) this holiday season. It’s the first children’s dance game to feature characters and music from the popular preschool programs Dorathe Explorer, Go, Diego, Go!, The Backyardigans and The Fresh Beat Band. In addition, Team Umizoomi is making its video game debut on Nintendo DS(TM) by combining action and adventure with an interactive math curriculum. Rounding out the lineup is Dora & Kai-lan’s Pet Shelter for Nintendo DS, with game play highlighting playful pet care and adoption.

Nickelodeon Dance for Wii and Kinect for Xbox 360 sets the stage for gamers big and small and is designed to help kids stay physically active as they groove alongside their favorite Nickelodeon friends. The lively dance songs include theme tracks from favorite preschool series such as Dora the Explorer, Go, Diego Go!, The Backyardigans, The Fresh Beat Band, as well as other popular licensed hits sung by Nickelodeon characters. Dance routines were developed in collaboration with a recognized children’s dance choreographer and special exercise-focused routines will be included to encourage active play and promote fitness.

Team Umizoomi for Nintendo DS is the first video game featuring the mini and mighty math superheroes of Nickelodeon’s top preschool program of the same name. Gamers will help Millie, Geo and Bot kick off Umi Celebration Day by using their math skills to save a seahorse, enter a race around Umi City, become a playground hero, and more.

Found a pet in need? Turn to Dora & Kai-lan’s Pet Shelter for Nintendo DS. The two Nickelodeon characters team-up to care for lost pets and find them homes. Kids will perform vet check-ups like a real doctor and practice basic pet-care skills to ready the animals for adoption. Once pets are adopted, they aren’t gone for good because Dora and Kai-lan pet sit too!

Nickelodeon Dance for Wii and Kinect for Xbox 360, Dora & Kai-lan’s Pet Shelter for Nintendo DS and Team Umizoomi for Nintendo DS will be available this November and have not yet been rated by the ESRB. The console titles are being developed by High Voltage Software, Inc. and Nintendo DS titles by Black Lantern Studios, Inc.
